The largest metro station in the Middle East, Shahr-e Aftab (Sun City), has been unveiled in Tehran during a grand ceremony, Real Iran news portal reported.
The new station will link Tehran’s Shahr-e Aftab Exhibition Complex to the city’s subway system.
The 25,000-square-meter station, which is three times bigger than the capital’s other metro stations, will facilitate travel to the Shahr-e-Aftab International Exhibition Complex that will host this year’s edition of the Tehran International Book Fair (May 5-15).
Built over an area of 138 hectares, the Shahr-e-Aftab exhibition complex it is the second largest in Asia and the third in the world after similar complexes in Germany and China. It is located on the Tehran-Qom highway, close to Imam Khomeini International Airport. More info
